Dentures
Removable replacement teeth, full or partial, made to fit your mouth and adjusted until they sit comfortably.

Dentures in Hosur: what is involved
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. A complete denture replaces a whole arch and rests on the gums, taking its support from the palate or the lower jaw ridge. A partial denture replaces several teeth and uses clasps around your remaining natural teeth to stay in place. Immediate dentures are fitted straight after extractions, and dentures can also be clipped on to implants for extra stability.
Making a denture takes careful steps: a preliminary and a final impression of your jaws, a try-in with wax blocks to set where the teeth sit, then a technician builds the base, most often in acrylic, and fits the artificial teeth. Because gums and bone change shape over the years, dentures need periodic adjustment and relining to stay comfortable. If you would rather have something fixed, an implant or a bridge may be an alternative, and we will go through them with you.
Dentures: step by step
We examine your mouth and remaining teeth, and talk through full, partial, immediate and implant-supported dentures so you can choose what suits you.
We take impressions of your jaws and gums, then a try-in with wax blocks lets us confirm the position of the teeth and the way your bite fits together.
Your finished denture is placed and checked for fit. We look for any area pressing on the gums and adjust it on the spot.
A follow-up visit lets us ease sore spots. Several adjustments in the first couple of weeks are normal while your mouth adapts.
Good to know about Dentures
It can take weeks, sometimes months, to feel natural. Sore spots are common at first, which is why we see you again after fitting. For a partial denture we may ask you to wear it all the time at the start, as that is the quickest way to find the spots that need adjusting.
Take them out at night to rest your gums, brush them daily with a soft brush and denture cleaner or mild soap, and keep them in water or a soaking solution overnight so they keep their shape. Brush your gums, tongue and remaining teeth twice a day, and expect a reline every one to two years.
