Porcelain veneers
Thin, custom-made porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth, to hide chips, gaps and stains that whitening cannot reach.

Porcelain veneers in Hosur: what is involved
A veneer is a thin shell, made to order from medical-grade porcelain, that bonds to the front surface of a tooth. It can mask chips and cracks, close small gaps, cover stains that do not respond to whitening, and even out teeth that are small or misshapen. Porcelain blends with your natural teeth and resists staining better than natural enamel.
Veneers do mean a lasting change to the tooth. A small amount of enamel is removed so the veneer sits flush, and for most types that cannot be undone. Any cavities or gum disease have to be treated first, and we will talk through whether bonding, whitening or crowns might suit you better before you commit.
Porcelain veneers: step by step
We look at your teeth, talk through what you want to change, check that your teeth and gums are healthy enough, and explain your options.
A small amount of enamel is removed from each tooth and impressions are taken for the lab. Temporary veneers can be placed while your own are made.
Two to three weeks later we check the fit, colour and shape, adjust where needed, and bond the veneers permanently with dental cement.
There is no downtime, and you can carry on as normal the same day. Use a soft brush, fluoride toothpaste and floss, and go easy on hard foods and heavily staining drinks.
Good to know about Porcelain veneers
Veneers look lifelike and resist stains, and with good care last 10 to 15 years. The trade-offs are the enamel that is removed, some extra sensitivity to hot and cold, the chance of a veneer coming loose, and the fact that they are cosmetic and not usually covered by insurance.
Whitening can lift stains on natural enamel, bonding can repair small chips directly on the tooth, and crowns suit teeth that are badly broken. We will tell you honestly which is the lightest treatment that gets the result you want.
