Teeth whitening
A supervised bleaching treatment that lightens natural teeth, either in a single chairside visit or gradually with custom trays at home.

Teeth whitening in Hosur: what is involved
Whitening products use hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, which break stains into smaller pieces so the tooth looks less coloured and brighter. Coffee, tea and red wine are the usual culprits, and over time the outer enamel also thins with brushing, letting the yellower dentin underneath show through.
It works best on yellow tones. Brown stains respond less well, grey tones may not lift at all, and whitening does nothing for crowns, veneers or fillings. That is why we check your teeth first and agree a realistic shade, rather than promising a result the tooth cannot give.
Teeth whitening: step by step
We confirm your teeth and gums are healthy, note any fillings or crowns that will not change colour, and record your starting shade.
In-clinic whitening is quicker, usually one visit of an hour or two. Take-home whitening uses trays made to fit your teeth and is more gradual, over two to six weeks.
In the clinic, your gums are protected with a gel or rubber shield before the bleach is applied. At home, you wear the custom tray with the gel for the time we show you.
Any sensitivity is usually short-lived. We explain which foods and drinks to limit while teeth settle, and how to keep the result for longer.
Good to know about Teeth whitening
Adults with healthy teeth and gums and mostly natural teeth. Any decay or gum disease is treated first. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and existing crowns, veneers and fillings will not match the new shade, which we plan around.
Teeth can feel sensitive to cold or sweet food and drink, and gums can be sore or show temporary white patches. These usually pass within days. Whitening is not permanent: with good habits results can last around three years.
